Corrections especially welcome · one person, replying when he can
ⓘ
hello@noobfishing.ca — that is the whole contact method. There is no form, because a form would mean adding a third-party service and a tracking script to a site that deliberately has neither.
The most useful thing you can send
A correction. These guides describe regulations, closures and parking, and all three change — sometimes with a day’s notice. I re-check each page on a schedule, but the schedule is slower than the river. If you were out there yesterday and something on a page is wrong, you know before I do.
Worth an email
A rule here that reads differently in the current synopsis or a fishery notice
A parking lot, gate or trail that has opened or closed
A stocking date, boundary sign or hatchery hour that has moved
A link that has rotted
Anything a beginner found confusing — that is a bug in the writing
If you can, include the page and where you saw the better information. It gets fixed much faster.
What to expect
This is one person writing in his own time, not a business with a support queue. A reply usually takes a few days and sometimes longer in the middle of a run.
Corrections get acted on before they get answered — if you send one, the page may well be fixed before you hear back from me.
I read everything. I cannot promise to answer everything.
Please do not email me about these
An emergency on the water. Call 911. For a marine emergency, the Coast Guard is 1-800-567-5111 or VHF channel 16.
Whether something is open right now. I am not the authority and I will only tell you to check the same place you should check yourself: DFO fishery notices, or 1-866-431-3474. That line is current; this site is as current as its last review date.
Poaching, pollution or a fish kill. Report it to the BC RAPP line, 1-877-952-7277, or #7277 on a cell. Do it while you are still there if you safely can — they need the time and place.
Guiding, lessons or gear sales. There is nothing for sale here and no trip to book. I am not a guide.
Everything else
Questions, a spot worth writing up, a shop that wants to talk, or a note that a guide helped — all fine, all welcome. If you are writing about how this site handles your data, the privacy page probably answers it, and if it does not, that is worth telling me too.
